Worth the read, folks.

The Christchurch massacare adds new urgency, with publications like The Verge2 floating the idea of shuttering 8chan, Forbes flat out asking whether or not 8chan should be “wiped from the web”,3 and the ever poorly researched Daily Dot offering its attempting to instigate action against 8chan and imageboards more widely.4

20 pages to say, "Someone should make a blockchain-based decentralized forum," as a billion of us already told PuttItOut but that all of us are too lazy and stupid to implement ourselves.

You know what woulda been better than 20 pages to say, "Someone should do this"? Doing it.

Why the fuck hasn't it been done already?

Cuz we're stupid and lazy. I don't know how the blockchain works. You don't know how the blockchain works. We think, "It's just like paper." And those who might know how it works don't know how to program. And those who know how to program don't know how it works.

Aren't there cryptocoin cloning... things? Programs? Sites? Because cryptocoins are open-source.

So what more does it take from going from the open-source cryptocoin to turning it into a forum?

Shouldn't it be as easy as adding a field or fields to wherever whatever transaction information is stored?

Which is why I'm asking, again, why the fuck hasn't someone implemented this already? It seems like such a natural idea, and such an easy one to do if cryptocoins are already open-source. Yet, all of us are too lazy and stupid to have actually done it already.

We don't really care about free speech sites. We have Voat and 4Chan, and jerking off to Internet porn is easier and more fun than figuring out how to make changes to cryptocoin open source to protect of our most sacred of values: free speech.

So, um, @PuttItOut, get on it, you lazy, stupid bastard. Oh, and while you're at it, let me post threads already, you censoring tyrant faggot.

There are already a lot of folks working on decentralized platforms. It's not easy and has a lot of compromise involved.

Oh, and while you're at it, let me post threads already, you censoring tyrant faggot.

Working on it.

Didn’t d:tube claim it’s all stored video in blockchain?

I’m not a huge fan of the glory of chains. More of an old school mediagoblin type.

People should learn enough to fire up their own Linux nodes so we can all SWAT this shit already.

Problem is you store data you get literally get swatted hence the chain idea right?

So - how to store data without being “knowledgeable” of what it is?

Edit: yep. They’re using STEEM and IPFS though I don’t know to what ends.

IPFS at its core is the balls.

What is DTube ? D.Tube is the first crypto-decentralized video platform, built on top of the STEEM Blockchain and the IPFS peer-to-peer network.
