Wish it would do that when I have turkey and potatoes...or a good steak off the grill. Asparagus tastes good but smells nasty!!!

Asparagus contains a compound known as mercaptan. When this is broken down by the digestive system, by-products are released causing the smell.
So the way our body breaks down asparagus it causes it to smell like the same thing.
