That'll solve the problem.
I agree the education system needs top/down repair in all kinds of ways. But student debt is voluntary... Imagine this was car loan debt, where everyone was drowning in debt because they bought the most expensive new car they could find, instead of getting the used car they could afford.
They choose which school to go to. They choose which degree to get. They choose what type of financial aid to receive. They choose how much debt to get into. Hell, they even make people read about and take a test on the different types of student loans/assistance. How much hand holding do they need? The banks shouldn't be handing out these loans they know won't get paid back. So let the process work itself out and don't bail out the students or the banks. This is how we learn.
Don't want students debt? Don't. That simple.
Don't want to pay insane tuition? Don't. That simple.
