"Cell Metabolism", shit-tier journal too. Can't imagine why this remarkable breakthrough wasn't published in "Science" instead.

Conclusions like this are based on the assumption that we think exactly like animals and can't be better. A mouse will eat more or less based on smell because it is an instinctual creature. Humans don't do this on both ends of the spectrum. Fats continue to eat despite not being hungry and we are also capable of resisting cravings when we know we don't need it. Animals don't do this. We are supposed to be better because of the capability. This is why all of these studies are flawed. They will never fix the obesity problem by addressing cravings or satiety. Fats are fat because they make a conscious decision to be gluttonous. They aren't relying on natural cues. Only forced restriction like literally removing their stomach has any effect for this reason.

This is exactly why I say fats are little better than animals.

They also claimed that the mice ate the same amount of food, probably in an effort to prove that diet doesn't matter and calories aren't important and everything can be blamed on inexplicable altering metabolism or some otherworldly fuckery. Why do I get the sneaking suspicion that this study was conducted by a fat?

I must have skimmed over that line. What I imagine they mean is that the mice were fed the same. They were given the same amount of food, but chose to eat less or more of it with changes to their smell ability. I would say fats like to lie by omission, but that it far too subtle. They just openly lie because they are horrible people. My fat to human translator is getting pretty good, I think.

I guess that means that thin privilege is having allergies.
