I imagined the beginning of Avatar 2 could look something like this :
Avatar 2 : Hunt
Na'vis and earthlings have reached a compromise : The latter will mine unobtanium from unhabited places on condition that Na'vi helps them find thoses places using the natural Na'vi's sense for electromagnetic fields caused by large quantities of unobtanium. They have 1 months before earth's new expedition arrives.
The scouts led by Jake and Ney'tiri embarks on a spaceship, leaving Pandora to reach the location of their first mission : a small moon about half the size of Pandora, which red color has earned the name Nt'koyla, 'warriors blood' in Na'vi.
The missions goes as planned, Jake and his team of four are following their flair for unobtanium in the jungle while Ney'tiri and a teammate are monitoring them from orbit. Jake's team finally arrive next to the entrance of a cave. The rocks are so rich in unobtanium they light the surroundings in blue. They decide to enter the cave, to measure how big the precious mineral vein is. After walking for a mile, they realize Ney'tiri has stopped talking on the com channel. She isn,t answering so they send an ping to her system. The answer is : 'already in communication'. They get out of the cave and they're faces blemish with terror when they look toward the sky. A huge ship is orbiting the moon, and a fleet of small ship are starting to detach from it : the expedition has arrived.

I wrote this a while ago and didn't finished, but the idea was that the expedition was entirely automated except for a skeleton crew of 10, including Quaritch, who has been healed and upgraded with robots parts which make him look like some kind of terminator !
The mining operation goes smoothly, surprisingly Quarritch behaves accordingly to the terms agreed between earthling and humans. He still wants to kick Jake's ass though, and one day they end up fighting quite violently (they have to work together). The fight is broken by others before it escalates too much.
They are still exploring Nt'koyla, and don't know much about the new moon. They found out it has a strange magnietic force, other than the gravitational force, that influences the nervous system of every living thing on it. Unfortunately, it has devatating effects on the human nervous system, and the human crew becomes mad with violent behaviour (think rabies). Jakes watch Quarritch starting to loose his mind, and he expects him to attack him without hesitation, but Quarritch keeps his self control and seems to control the first symptoms (badass as usual lol). He then tells Jake to run away as he feels his loosing control.
When Jake reach back the base, he learns that this electromagnetic force is a way for the planet to defend itself from other living things (There is so much life in this solar system that planets have evolved protective behaviours).
Hopefully the brains of the humans on Nt'koyla have been backed up to the base's computer before they started loosing their mind. Except that some were still infected, and they are able to hack the main computer from their backup and the whole robot fleet becomes infected too !

Ok I'm out of ideas now ;)
