I enjoyed it immensely. It only rankles because I only got to fly the Arwing for 5 minutes. I wanted star fox and got alt-zelda.

The Getaway on PS2. Absolutely loved the story at the time, as well as the complete absence of shit on the screen. Controls were a bit meh but I got used to it, and as far as I know that's the main criticism of the game.

You played as the father whose son was kidnapped and then as the good cop in a rotten police station.

Without naming something specifically I think there are a lot of decent games that are passed over these days for not being mainstream. Especially for "professional" reviews if it doesn't have the newest fad competitive multiplayer it's not a good game. That leaves a lot out there that are very enjoyable.

I liked Of Orcs and Men. People gave it shit reviews when it came out.

I tried thinking about this for a minute and then realized, that I have no idea which games are disliked by people. But I casually enjoyed FLASH games back in the days when Flash still existed and as far as I remember those type of games were considered to be terrible.

The Syndicate reboot. Mod out the bloom, bump up the FOV, and I found it was actually pretty fun. I really like Starbreeze shooters, though.

Trespasser, the Jurassic Park game from 1998. I got it when I came out cause I was a teenager and I loved the Jurassic Park movies. It was super buggy and horribly optimized, literally like 10-15 frames per second on my pentium. But it was the first game I played that had a full physics engine and a quite beautiful, tropical 3D jungle environment, where some of the levels like the town prompted the player to explore a whole village. It had a great atmosphere I really remember it and love it dearly, but it was a total flop at the time because of all the bugs and terrible frame rate.
