I had this on the OG Xbox and it was one of the few Xbox games I ever actually finished. I liked it in 2005. I doubt I could stand to play it again now though.
Chromehounds. Big robots fighting each other. It was a launch game for the Xbox 360, and the netcode was terrible because it was new, multiplayer matches would just disconnect randomly. But it's the only mecha game I've ever liked, probably because it was made by From Software. It'll never ever get a sequel because the disconnects pissed people off, but I still remember Chromehounds.

Aidyn Chronicles, N64.
Game was objectively a wreck. I still really love it.

I tried thinking about this for a minute and then realized, that I have no idea which games are disliked by people. But I casually enjoyed FLASH games back in the days when Flash still existed and as far as I remember those type of games were considered to be terrible.

Minecraft.
I know what you're going to say, here. "WTF? Minecraft is universally acclaimed!"
However, from everything I've ever seen, no, it isn't. Minecraft is a game which almost everyone has played, but it (particularly vanilla or unmodded) is not necessarily a game which everyone likes. There is a difference between universal visibility, and universal appeal.
Minecraft in my observation primarily appeals to people from outside the traditional "gaming," demographic, in the same way that The Sims did. The old school FPS bracket in particular seem unenthusiastic about it, when the irony there is that with the appropriate mods, Minecraft is easily one of the greatest FPS experiences I've ever had; and I say that as someone who was at high school when the original Doom was released. Minecraft offers a potential level of tactical freedom which you won't find anywhere else.
I'm also not talking about Battle Royale here, either. I play exclusively single player PvE.
