At&t and other phone companies probably have it written into the contract that they are not at fault if they give your account info over to a hacker.

This is not a “hack” this is a scam job that At&t and other carriers fell for. If they say they were scammed, they are liable. If they say you were hacked, you are liable. Nice trick of the words their jewish press and lawyers use.

The idea of using a smartphone to handle one's personal financial data is tempting, but the device is promiscuous meaning it has several forms of connective technologies each with their own bugs, flaws, and exploits. These technologies have multiple examples of being exploitable in the wild using a variety of methods. Then there's the issue of using the device to mindlessly surf the web exposing it to potentially compromised websites and ad networks.

It's also why a lot of corporations give some of their IT employees a general purpose laptop/computer and specific purpose laptops/computers that only connect to highly secured servers.

It's also why I do no access my financial services on anything but a purpose bought HP laptop that doesn't get used for anything by connecting to my financial services.

Another reason not to have a cell phone.

With any contract I am handed, I usually make changes ... if they don't like it then there is no contract.

And don't do any serious stuff online anyways. Other than credit card payments .. do zero banking online (not even to chk balance -- fucking nothing.)

But please by all means... plug this device in to your fully autonomous vehicle as it drives you and your family on the freeway at 60mph.

That's right. With a little help from hackers we might resolve the idiot's overpopulation problem.

Unfortunately people can be smart and yet unaware of the security implications of the things they use. It's also an issue when there are people in the car. It's also an issue that people can do it. It's also an issue that those vehicles can be driven into you as your walking along the side of the road.
