I strongly, strongly suspect that very few goats have the ability to donate in any meaningful fashion to a project this large.

But, I suspect that doesn't actually matter.

I also strongly suspect they'll have no major issue fundraising to repair the cathedral. Some dude has already pledged nearly half a billion and I'm positive many other people with means will donate significant sums.

I so strongly suspect this that I'd be mildly concerned if I saw them begging for donations from average people.

If it's anything like Aparecida do Norte down in Brazil, it'll just turn into a huge moneymaking scam constantly "building" but never finishing due to "needing" more money.

you should never donate to anything that you don't control. Even tithing (that isn't directed to a project) will trickle to a central entity that will do things that you don't agree with (food aid in africa, for example). There are plenty of things that you can do with your money to make the world a better place if you have extra.

I think that zero percent loans for projects or people that/who will make your community better. Buy the neighbor kid who mows lawns a nice snow blower, and let him pay you back over a few seasons of work (of do your walks for 4 years). help a young couple at church with a down payment (this would need to be done in an odd way though because of the way loan paperwork works), so they can stop paying (((someone))) rent and take pride in their own house.

The rebuilt cathedral family home would be at risk. A rebuilding of Notre-Dame cathedral the Smith Residence promotes complacency. Leaving it present as ruins a condemned building would be better as a reminder to address problems Europe the neighbourhood is facing.

Don't take advice about building your home from a stranger. Don't even take advice about building your home from a long-lost cousin who hasn't been around in decades.

Better places to allocate it.

Of course, it's a bad idea, they should buy rifles to shoot gorillas speaking in French
