Congratulations! Coming out to someone isn't always easy, and it's a big step in every bro's life. I rarely get the "well duh" reaction, but it's always a weird experience when I do. "What do you mean you know?" Hopefully everyone else takes it as well as your friend did.

Hey baby steps or not at least you are going in the correct direction. There is no better feeling than self-respect. I told my family about myself when I was 18 and they didn't take it so well. However, now they are very accepting of me.
