Love it! Thank you for sharing! I feel like I have no idea what I'm doing. It was nice to see that I'm not the only one who is wondering what something I planted was! I bought label sticks but used a Sharpie to write the names... Sun cleaned them like it never happened! Discover now that you're supposed to use an oil based pencil (?). We're getting our things from the move on the 19 finally, so I'll either have the kids help me paint rocks for labels or I'm going to wood burn labels into some thick branches.

I'm already thinking that I should've organized my planting differently, but I'm not going to worry too much about it since it's my first year truly gardening.

I like your reference to zone 1. Started considering that I should put some of my herbs and all the tomatoes closer to the house. I already have my leafy greens there.

Do you have a worm bed? I have one inside but thought about watching Craigslist for a cheap tub or something similar to bury in the ground.

Are you doing any other flowers? I saw the Iris and they're gorgeous.

Labels are cool, but I mostly don't bother. I may use markers just so I know not to disturb that area again, but generally I can identify a plant or just note where I placed a certain variety in my garden journal. Makes life much easier, but the rocks sounds like a fun project with the kiddos.

No worm bed. I just let my native worms do what they do best. I think it's just one less thing to worry about.

And yes, a fucking ton of flowers. They're here, there, and everywhere. Some are intentional, some aren't. I love them all. You'll see what I'm talking about in a month or so.
