This is ridiculous, there was enough evidence for the police and their respective attorneys to charge him in the first place, which they did. The withdrawal of charges stinks, it silences the cops and allows JS to pursue his victimhood status. Convenient change of narrative, eh ?

Judge Nap is theorizing it was "defect in factual data and/or witnesses", ie: failure to vet the 2 brothers before charging. And of course, Smollett's attorney's statement does call him a victim already. Smollett yet to speak, or any prosecution rep.
