fish oil

I recently tried a really high quality cod liver oil for omega 3s, iodine, vitamin k, etc, and within 30 minutes it gave me acute, incredibly intense depression and anxiety. I have a history of both but this felt different, it was chemical, not based off external factors (like being depressed because no qt wife, for example). Apparently this reaction is not unheard of, I found after some digging. It really fucked me up for a while, warning to other anons to try it when you have a day or two off it you are determined to. Also, consider going without for a bit if you take it and have anxiety or depression issues.

It was actually a good learning lesson, the difference between that depression and anxiety vs what I normally experience was rather distinct, so I don’t believe that my regular depression is chemical, just circumstantial

Any thoughts on skate/ratfish liver oil? Or is it all new-age nonsense?

I go for cod liver in can in own liver oil cheap and the same benefit:

High in vitamin A, D3 and omega 3.

Just be careful about the linning of the can. I eat once a week. Don't eat/drink the oil because it can be rancid/oxidized.

Unless it has some special vitamin I don’t see how it would be any different. Most of this sort of thing is just gay new age garbage, eat meat abd fish and you’ll be fine

Only supplements I’ve ever taken that seemed to have an actual effect have been iodine and vitamin k2 (mk4 version). And of course magnesium which will make you shit yourself if you take too much

is it all new-age nonsense?

It is mostly all (((supplement))) nonsense. Anything they can put in a bottle and charge money for they will. Every culture everywhere that relied on fish as its fat source also ate the entire fish. Tests of people trying to reproduce the "eskimo diet" in the 20s and 30s found people developed health problems if they didn't eat the fish brains. Just stop eating omega-6 fats, that's all that matters from a fats standpoint.

Fish oil is inflammatory you retard.

Doesn't seem to be according to meta analysis https://examine.com/supplements/fish-oil/#effect-matrix

None of the studies listed there even looked into it. They looked to see if it was anti-inflammatory, and found that it was not. If you are eating 40 grams of vegetable oil a day, adding 4 grams of fish oil isn't going to show increased inflammation with any reliability, it is too small of a change. You don't even get a statistically significant increase going from 40 to 44 of omega 6 laden vegetable oil. You need a study that actually considers that it could be a source of inflammation, not one that assumes the opposite from the outset and so sets up the preconditions of the study to be people with highly inflammatory diets in the first place.

Kike, I eat more saturated fat than you do. I put butter on my steak, which is the vast majority of my diet. Go blow a cucumber.
