Depends on what part of Tacoma.

I was born and raised in Proctor district, it’s crime free, mostly white, and nice.

Two years ago, before I moved north for work, me and wife rented a house just up from narrows marina, area is filled with very expensive homes. Again, mostly white and crime free.

Downtown and south end? Same as most other cities. No better, no worse.

The Ruston way drive, and Point Defiance Park are absolutely spectacular. When I was a kid, Ruston way had NO traffic, and I would walk down the 30th street gulch to sit by the bay, and reflect on life.

I LOVED growing up there, and consider myself very lucky.

I agree with everything you say and Proctor district is beautiful. One of my favorite things to do is ride my bike around those neighborhoods late at night near write park or what I call old town. They have old school street lights that cast a very warm color in the night over the canopy of trees that hang over the roads and the homes are always interesting to look at. 100 year old mansions all over the place (near 6th). Downtown and many other areas however are a completely different story, they are true shit holes.

The schools are liberal shitholes. The north end is all gay flag flying commies who work for the military industrial complex. The south is full of homelessness and human feces. The middle class lives with junkies in the allies, needles on the ground and homeless sleeping in their cars on your street. The city allows those fucking scooters all over and people leave them in the middle of the sidewalks. MS-13 everywhere.

Honestly? As someone in Seattle I've been IMPRESSED with how clean Tacoma looks in comparison lately
