A lot of things could strike again from the cosmos, or strike for the first time for that matter. If we worried about all of them we'd go nuts. Solar flare. Fluctuations of solar output. Comet strike. Meteor strike. Radiation burst from a nearby supernova. Wandering neutron star or black hole crossing the path of our Sun. Radiation from some distant external source outside our galaxy. Interstellar dust cloud bringing about a new ice age. Massive super-volcano eruption, or series of eruptions. Our entire planet deciding to re-skin itself by recycling its surface material. And probably a whole bunch of things I haven't mentioned and can't even imagine.
