I propose a game, name the rest of the colour options. I'll go first-- Pink Elephant

Firetruck red
School bus yellow
Necrosis black
Munster brown

Well, necrosis isn't necessarily obesity-related. I think 'Diabeteic Necrosis Black,' or 'Beetus-rot Black,' for short (and for the alliteration) might be more appropriate.

But no uproar that it was cheaper despite being the same dress, but using more materials.

This can't be accidental.

If I remember it right, Target apologized for it and explained that is just a normal color name and happened accidentally that the two products had different color names. I believe they stopped (temporary?) using manatee gray as a color even if it is the correct color name.

Jabba Green; Manatee Gray; Darkness; Horizon Blue; Cloud White...

How the hell is it cheaper for a bigger dress?
[–] Captain_Trips 0 points 1 point 1 point (+1|-0) ago
XXL (in the top image) is not considered plus-size?

The plus-sized dress is cheaper. Economies of scale hard at work.
[–] Umrtvovacz 0 points 12 points 12 points (+12|-0) ago
I don't understand. Shouldn't it be more expensive? There is more material. Or is it just that the majority of Americans are fat so to offset lower sales of small dresses they must be more expensive to be viable? If that is the truth, WTF?
[–] DeVera 0 points 3 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago
Yes we finance the fatties sadly.

It's most likely because they produce far more circus-tent-size dresses than human-size ones. Thus, they can order more at a time for larger discounts, and the factory workers will be more experienced making bigger dresses, etc. The whole supply chain is geared better for making bigger dresses because they move more of them.

Fat privilege: cheaper clothes because they're made in bulk for bulk sizes.
