this is the perfect excuse to learn how to be anonymous online
To be perfectly honest, it's not an issue of necessity at all. This goes back to what I said before: looking into that sort of shit makes me uneasy. It just feels like I'm supposed to understand not to research it. Same with learning a little about pentesting/hackershit that's well above my head. It'd be smart to know what bad folks would do so as to be prepared and keep your devices secure, it's smart to be anonymous whenever possible to the highest possible degree, but the overall vibe is "trust avast/norton/lifelock/whatever and don't look into this shit because watchlist teehee"
I know you didn't ask, but I'm not an outlier; this is a very common take on techshit.

Personally, I dont use an antivirus, the only thing I pay for is a VPN
This kind of attitude and carelessness will come back to bite you in the coming years of uncertainty. This is only my personal opinion of course, it may be unnecessary or even pitiful, but given the views I express are pseudocriminal in my country, and I also close the door when I shit, I dont think paying attention to privacy is in any way something to vilify. The only thing you need to be concerned about as far as 8chanis concerned is your IP tbh, when you sign in with the captcha youre logging in with an IP, and thats the only thing 8chan administrators know about you. A vpn or Tor is enough to protect you from this.
