Where did you get your history lessons? I've learned from my elders who both had children and were children during this time period...most people ...even men...were good to one another. If a mother and father couldn't raise their children family would usually step in...this was a rare occurrence.
This woman clearly needs a wakening. Her life must have been as she relays. But there are those that lived on the other side of the mountain or as we sometimes say, The other side of the tracks. So sad when people can't understand that others are not on the same social level as they are. Some are born into dirt poverty. We are NOT all created equal.
I had read this story before but not for a while. Thank you for posting it. You have my voat.
If you were from that time and lived in the poor part of town that’s how it went. Sad but true. Yes there were some good people but the had better learning. Women were one rung below men.
Most mothers would die to protect their children. Unless she's a total psycho, this might be a setup? Maybe? Anyway, very thought provoking. Thanks UpVoated!

UpVoat 4 U. That's what I was thinking. Are you telling me there was no other option? Very strange.
