I'm not really familiar with Critical Role, but what I gather is that Resetera is upset that a small group of friends didn't organically include any nonwhite people? They're actually assuming to change small groups of friends.

Imagine you're hanging out with a couple of your buddies and you realize you're all white, and you scramble to make a black friend just to include the optics. That's absolutely ridiculous and insulting.

Yes, it's literally just bitching that there isn't black people playing Dungeons and Dragons on a regular basis. Guest people just aren't good enough, there must be a token black. (Of course as usual with the diversity squad, it's just black that's important, never anything else.)

In all truth, as someone who's played tabletop stuff growing up, let alone in multiple countries, the one thing I can say is.. blacks and the hobby are fairly low in general. They're just overall not as interested. No matter what gaming store I go to, or when I worked in the arcade and our tabletop nights, they were 9/10 the least interested. Now when I see groups, I still don't see blacks, and I'll see even more girls then I will blacks.

This is a really stupid thing to go after and just shows how dumb their entire thing is. It's legit not even racism going on, but nope, you failed to meet the diversity quota.

So following the links I see this is some people playing dungeons and dragons...

Who the fuck needs representation in that? There aren't any real elves or skeleton warriors for gods sake, are there even any black people that need voicing?

I'd welcome some black voice actors to play orcs, ogres, etc. That would be racist too of course.

No we need to insert Sub-Saharans into Tolkienesque fantasy Europe.
