Tripe, I cannot even describe what it tastes like as I only ate it once, like many others.

It barely has any taste at all, I only add it to dishes for the texture.

Have you ever had menudo?

[–] dotwork ago

No! I live in the UK and have only had plain tripe. These dishes that I keep looking up make me think I should maybe try some of them.

In soups, its great! A local Vietnamese place has it in their pho. As far as I can tell, it didn't really have a taste of its own...

I'll probably get downvoated into oblivion... But blue cheese. It's just so gross. :(

I actually like blue cheese but i can see why some people would not.

Totally depends on the blue cheese. I like the fake stuff served with cheap chicken wings the best... When it has the vomit taste it's too fancy IMHO

Heh, one time I accidentally ate a moldy brownie; like it had the white fuzz on it and everything and it tasted like a brownie with blue cheese. I pretty much threw up a minute later.

But I still like bleu cheese.

I'm attempting to upvoat you into oblivion. I think the taste of this ranges from "someone else's vomit" to "someone else vomited into a long-unwashed gym sock".

I always felt like I was the only one who didn't like it! A small piece of my faith in humanity has been restored today.

I didn't try it but I saw and smelled balut and it looked so damn awful. I really do not understand how people can eat that stuff but I guess I don't have to because that shit is not going into my mouth, ever.

Sea weed come to mind. Also Caviar, and Lobster is pretty gross as well.

Huh, I can understand with caviar and lobster as they definitely have distinct flavor, but seaweed can be pretty bland. Is it the texture that throws you off?

There might be different verities, the one i tried was the dried kind. Extremely salty, like more salty than actually eating salt, and kind of rotten fish and a taste of what moldy hay smells like.

I full on agree with every word of this. Some foods I just can't handle. So many of the other things in this thread I can eat. I just can not eat Lobster. I could handle sea weed against my will and also Caviar. But Lobster is atrocious. My Uncle is from Eastern Canada and he loves a boiled lobster. I just can't eat it, its so salty and tasteless.

Lobster seems rubbery, really old fishy...

The only thing I'm really shocked by is that you don't like seaweed (assuming you mean nori). Seaweed is insanely addictive for me.

But what I usually notice in people who don't like seaweed is that they don't like most things with a lot of umami flavor, like mushrooms and soy sauce, either. To each his own, I guess!

Umami? Well i very much dislike mushrooms, taste and texture, or soy sauce.

I could do a lobster roll right now with a little caviar on top. With wasabi and soy-sauce. MMMMMmm YUM!

Have you had it fried? Like everything else, okra is great fried. Still a bit slimy, though.

Even baked okra works.

No, I don't do well with slimy. I've heard it's way better this way though. I'd be open to trying it.

Definitely durian fruit.

It smells like sweaty gym socks and spoiled onions and definitely tastes just like them too.

This is a fruit no human should ever attempt to eat.

Love it. You just need to eat few and you will be hooked.

There's a durian stall outside my house right now (Chiang Mai). You've made me hungry.

I ordered a durian smoothie at a restaurant once (I had never had it before). The waitress asked me twice, "are you sure? Have you had it before?" I lied and said yeah I loved it. I almost barfed on the first sip. The sweet taste does not make up for the overwhelming aroma of rotting death garbage.

I could have told you that it tasted like butt.

My family loves it. I want to throw up. The texture is like a banana or what I imagine soft shit feels like.

Ugh. That just makes it sound even more disgusting.
