I know this yet it is a food for wealthy people at this moment in time so it is a cultured food.

your last statement is true but think about this, a lot of people prefer margarine spread over butter and this is because they grew up eating it and never having butter.

Lamb shanks used to be sold as dog bones in Australia and it was a meat for poor people but now lamb shanks are expensive, lamb in general is expensive.. over $40 a KG for rack of lamb and I don't like lamb I find it oily I only eat lamb crumbed cutlets.

I used to be more adventures about trying new foods. Now i eat what I know, and what I can afford, which is not much these days.

yeah man Im like you but will eat any food that's free.

I get meat offcuts and make stews I used to be a butcher so I can identify good cuts of meat in the packets labled dog bones (no different then other supermarket meat)

I worked once in a supermarket meat department and have witnessed whole pallets of meat being thrown away because the label is askew and a few letters are missing! after working in supermarket I realised theres nothing wrong with dumpster diving.
