Dead like Me

Seriously one of the most underrated shows I know. After a couple episodes it really picked up and became interesting for me. Plus, any show with Manny Patinkin is awesome.

Don't you hate it when Mandy Patinkin leaves a show? I stopped watching Criminal Minds because of that. Love that dudes acting.

Windy City Heat. It aired once on Comedy Central back in 2003 and went to DVD a few years later. It's a prank on a guy named Perry Caravello where they make him believe he's the star of a movie called "Windy City Heat" but they are actually fucking with him the whole time.

Here's one of the many hilarious scenes from the movie

I enjoyed Alpha House, a comedy staring John Goodman about 4 republican senators living together. I like that it didn't treat republicans as a punching bag, that's too easy to do. They did a good job finding comedy on that side of the aisle.

Taxi to the Dark Side, mostly because is a documentary and many US citizens don't like their military forces being criticized..

Thief - 1981, a Michael Mann masterpiece.

The Imposter is pretty unknown if you don't watch many documentaries. I'm an absolute nut for 'em (though you don't need to be to like it) and that is definitely one of my all time favourites. It's also got some great cinematics. Just check out the trailer.

I rarely hear people talk about Hard Candy. Kind of a chilling, everyone is a shitty person, type of suspense movie.

The 1997 film version of Lolita. I thought Jeremy Irons portrayal of Humbert Humbert was phenomenal.

My favourite is a movie called Mirrormask. It's visually abstract with a dream-like quality to it (in fact, the main character alludes to it being "her dream" several times). Aside from that, it was written by Neil Gaiman, which should say something about it. It can seem a little slow to start, but with lines like "We'll do what rich people do, bathe-in fish!", it's worth it to give the movie a shot.
