What does the word "German" mean?
Seems basically meaningless to me.

It was the name the romans gave to the Germanic tribes
The point of my post was to investigate what weight the word "German" had. If it is not describing the peoples and culture of Germany then are we reducing to a term of geography?
I hope atleast half of that is immigrants from other european countries

A country is not a line on a map. It is its people. Without Germans, Germany is nothing.
