I guess this sells newspapers....but I don't find it at all newsworthy from the point of view that people should be concerned. Maybe from a historical point of view, as this article states, to support the idea that Edward was a nazi sympathiser, but so were other celebrities from that time. He abdicated the throne before the war and certainly there is nothing to suggest that he influenced britain's war effort against hitler.

Totally agree with you. Now CNN has decided to take it up because they're running out of news too.

Sensationalist garbage. It might have some validity if it were aimed at Edward, but it lacks any context or attempt to provide one. We're going to try to shame people over what they did when they were 7 now?

I think HRH QEII pretty clearly established her stance on the Reich even as a teenager. Standing alongside her subjects literally during the bombing instead of fleeing to safety in Canada as was recommended.

I'm surprised that people still exchange the queen's head for that piece of shit they call a newspaper.
While the Queen has done untold good work for Britain the sun just pisses all over anything it touches. Talk about shitting on your own doorstep every day.

It's not a newspaper, it's a tabloid. The Weekly World News had more journalistic integrity than The Sun I reckon.

Fair enough, but many people put gold into it's coffers and so give it a kind of validity.

Its the Bellamy Salute. Pre-WWII it was used in America by people saying the pledge of allegiance. Stupid people buy anything.

Stupid Ignorant people buy anything.

There's a huge difference between being "stupid" and "ignorant."

Considering that she missed being born a member of the house of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha by 9 years....

What's your point exactly? That she's a decedent of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert? And even then Queen Victoria belonged to the House of Hanover - another German house.

My point is that the UK was, and had been for generations, ruled by Germans and they changed their name to avoid to association with them in the wake of WWI.
