The film still hasn't opened in a few markets, including France, Japan and Mexico, but box-office experts say it will have trouble getting to $225 million despite a hefty net production budget of $144 million plus a big marketing spend. The studio has said break-even would be $300 million.
So $156 million in marketing to shit all over their audience. I hope for Sony's sake that they have terminated relations with that marketing company.

The movie sucked. No marketing company could have changed that.

I wish I could stomp on the heads of feminists. In any case this will probably lure me into a theater. I haven't been in one of those in 10 years.
It's weird I cant remember the last time I was excited for a movie. But this one will be a sequel in the spirit of the original and it is gonna piss off feminists and sjws at the same time. The only thing that could make this better will be the hip flask I bring with me and having the woman drive us home.
Hopefully this movie massively outperforms that stupid feminist bullshit movie they made.

My wife and I "hate watched" the semi-recent Death Wish remake and the most recent Liam Neeson movie at the theater. We didn't know if the movies would be good or bad, but we wanted to add to the box office. Vote with your dollars, folks, 'cause ballot boxes don't mean shit.
If you're wondering, both movies were terrible. They were way too violent. A lot of shooting.

Remakes are hard. I'm kind of worried this will just be a near-perfect echo of the original, adding nothing.

A good take is more than possible. I present as evidence Max Landis' take on GB3. Mind you I had to wayback that shit because Max got slapped with a PoundMeToo last year and DELETED FUCKING EVERYTHING as a response.

Even if it was a total nothing-added/nothing-changed echo, that’d still be worlds better than the Power Puff girl’s club POS remake. Besides--we all know this version is going to be more fully packed with Africans, Asains, Latinos, Eskimos, Muzzies, Native Americans, South Pacific Islanders and every other brand of whatever than the damn UN. The ghosts will probably be ethnically identifiable as everything but white. At the very least, that’ll be different than the original three white guys with one black guy format.

I hope this one references the 2016 movie canonically as a “based on actual events” movie within the ghostbusters universe.
I’d love a short scene where Ray and Winston are shown watching tv and talking about it.
Ray: “That’s not how it happened. This is highly inaccurate.”
Winston: “It’s called artistic license..”
Ray: “And why did they make me a woman?”
Winston: “They made us all women... well, except Janine.”
Ray: “Well, why did they make mine fart so much? I don’t fart...”

The thing that always kills me about when somebody starts carrying on about how many Vagina-Americans are in a show is that I honestly didn't care until recently.
Is the show any good? Yes? NO? If it's no then fuck off. Ghostbusters 2016 cemented my rule that if a production uses "MUH VAGINA" as it's major feature the production card can't stand on it's own merits.

listened to him on Bill Burr's podcast, apparently his dad directed the first one, hope its good but its almost impossible to recapture the magic of the first two
