Exactly. But that doesn't mean one cannot fix and use schools in the process. How are you going to strengthen the family unit with out developing better parenting skills, especially when there are so many single-parent families. That is where churches and schools can help. Don't throw the tool away simply because it was misused in the past.

yeah you are so right. I've offered to do some after school tutoring for some friends and I make sure to talk with my kids and grandkids regularly. Send them bits and pieces of info that refutes the talking points. We are in scary times.

When I taught elementary school, it broke my heart because of so many grandparents who were raising their grandchildren. The children missed out on their parents, and the grandparents couldn't enjoy being grandparents. The solution is not easy because those children do not have any idea of what a healthy family is or how to parent. The church has failed as well because we talk about church communities rather than church families. Our families, our churches, our country, and the world is a huge mess right now.
“There will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth dismay among nations, in perplexity at the roaring of the sea and the waves, men fainting from fear and the expectation of the things which are coming upon the world; for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then they will see THE SON OF MAN COMING IN A CLOUD with power and great glory. But when these things begin to take place, straighten up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.” (Luke 21:25–28 NASB).
