Low carb worked wonders for me: I lost 20kg (44lbs) last year doing that. Probably could have done more if I really wanted.

Some tips: Cheese is a great snack food and jello makes you full. Also carbonated water. If you're craving something sweet drink diet soft drinks. They're essentially just flavoured water with sweeteners. Just a note of caution: If you're losing weight to manage diabetes, sweeteners can still screw with your insulin.
