Some guy I met at a bad religion concert, he asked me for a cigarette than asked me if they searched people at the gate, turns out he had four beers stuffed in his boxers. I followed him to the gates, he walked so slow and looked like a penguin with a stick up his ass. Funniest thing ever.

I was walking in Chicago once, and there was a gentleman in orange robes (I assume he was a monk of some sort). It was winter, so he was wearing heavier robes. He was smiling at every person he walked past, like simply being there was his greatest joy. Everyone kept walking past him hurriedly, hardly even noticing him, but he smiled all the same. The only person that I saw even notice him for more than a second was a little boy, probably only a few years old. He gave this man the biggest smile and waved, and I saw their immediate connection. It was quite a moment.

Nice. I personally find children to be much more aware of their surroundings (at least sometimes). They haven't yet accepted the law of the world, that of apathy.

Even though they get a bad reputation for knocking on doors and bothering people, Jehovah's Witnesses are actually generally very nice and will pleasantly converse with you about religion regardless of what you believe. As an atheist, I've pretty much always gotten on well with them.

Can confirm. Father is a Jehovah's Witness, and I have spoken with many members of his branch, or congregation maybe? All have been ridiculously nice. And they are very, very helpful to other members when they need a hand. I know they've helped my Potch, and were there for him during a tough patch in his and our lives. Have nothing but good things to say about them. Still prefer my Catholicism, however. I was bred quite stubborn. haha.

not sure how I believe in the devil when I don't believe in god

Sadly, many Christians take the "if you're not with us, you're against us" stance, which to them means you must be in league with Satan if you aren't on God's team.

Stranger on the bus told me he liked my Bob Marley shirt, thanked him and he carried the conversation, talked to me about how he DJ's and then starts talking about laptops. Eventually he starts mentioning Linux, penetration testing tools, alternative distros and such, which was awesome, I've never had friends interested in distros let alone pen-testing.

He starts to get up off the bus, asks me if I "trip", offers me himself as a connect for acid and dropped me his number.

Computers and acid, great encounter.

I was stranded at a Dead show 1000miles from home and managed to get rescued - I got a ride right to my front door by a stranger with a Pontiac hearse. Never saw him again, but 2 weeks later the same stranger rescued my parents who's boating trip had been stranded in the middle of nowhere by a storm. Hundreds of miles away. Impossible but true.

Ok, I know a guy who would do this type of thing, and drove that vehicle. Was it normal in color or painted with a band name on it? Do you remember anything else?

I was sitting on the patio in the back of a coffee shop sometime around 1993. Someone started rhythmically tapping a spoon or something. Another person joined in tapping a complementary pattern. Then I joined in. Soon enough, the entire patio had joined in and was spontaneously crafting a piece of rhythmical beauty.

When it ended, everyone cheered and then proceeded to go about whatever they were doing before.

It was pretty amazing to be part of something completely spontaneous between complete strangers like that. If it was a video on youtube, everyone would scream, "Fake!"

Someone yelled at me as I walked by a bus stop last week. I thought they were asking for a cigarette, which I didn't have at the time. After explaining to me that he didn't want a smoke but wanted me to give him a bus pass, I told him I don't have a bus pass because I drive to work. He told me to fuck off, gave me the finger, and called me a faggot for not giving him a bus pass. I walked away.

Heh, I don't get some people. I had something vaguely similar happen to me while walking home a couple of months ago. I came around the corner of a strip mall, and this guy comes into view. He noticed me, and immediately shouted at the top of his lungs, "Gimme a fucking cigarette!". There was nothing to even identify me as a smoker, let alone someone that will give one to a demanding asshole. I had no words, so I just glared at him and walked past. What do you even say?

Yeah I am speechless sometimes at the way people act in public.

These types of encounters often sadden me. Reacting with anger upon not receiving what is desired.

More than reacting with anger, the fact they demand something from you in the first place pisses me off.

I had something I needed to give to my sister but I could not find her so I thought that I could give it to her best friend to pass it on later. I ran up to this girl who I thought was my sister's friend saying "Caitlin Caitlin Caitlin where's Katie?" And the girl turned out not to be Caitlin. Upon realising I said "oh crap sorry" and ran away, fast.
