People died as a direct result of this, with forethought on the part of the perpetrator and with aggravating circumstances. Others were forced into amputations or other forms of permanent disfigurement. It should have been life in prison if not the death penalty.

Some of these guys can be very convincing. A lot of them are con-men. Hell, the entire field of psychiatry is based on feeding people M&Ms and seeing if they work, and if they don't, they give them a different colored M&M.
