Why didn't she just ask one of the multiple hog-friendly designers in the comments who claimed to have dressed her in the past? Sounds more like she was licking her chops for an opportunity to reee, and went out of her way to ask a noted shitlord like Lagerfeld or similar to dress her, fully aware of what the answer would be. Ham 101: never miss a chance to manufacture victimhood.

Here's the thing: designers aren't giving away anything for free. If an actress is slim enough to fit into a sample size, they will loan her a dress. Models are skinny and sample sizes are small because the fabrics and labor are fucking expensive when you're talking about these fashion houses employing highly trained craftspeople to hand-stitch sequins, feathers etc. If someone is a legit 0-2, they get a free, fancy dress to wear and the designer gets advertising. But, again, that sample can't get anything spilled on it. It has to be able to be shown on the runway, too.
Fats are acting like they're being discriminated against. They just don't fit the specs. Now, there is a business opportunity for Lane Bryant or whoever to have someone wear one of their dresses, then put it in a shop window to showcase it as the gown the fat chick from This is Us wore. But one of those fat-dressing companies would have to want to get behind it.

i have this insane idea. i know it's crazy but bare with me here.... how about you...you....PAY for your fucking dress and BUY whatever dress you like in whatever size you want???? i know im being way, way to radical here. it was just a silly thought i had. it's not like a gazillion fatass brides have their fancy dresses tailored all the time. no ham ever went to prom. never. this is literally the first time there was a need for a bigger dress. my heart goes out to you!!

Actors get to write a lot of self-care and grooming stuff off, anyway. Like arguably they have to get manicures for work. If you have to buy something to wear to what's basically a televised work event, something that showcases your 'brand' to the public, you at least have an argument for writing your expensive gown off. Or you could auction it off on Ebay. Or just consign it to recoup some of the costs. There are literally SO MANY options here that go beyond whining on Twatter.

You're saying all the women in the world that are a size 8 and up are not beautiful.
It's true that you are too fat to be beautiful, but I still hate the strawman. Just because any company has a finite line of sizes doesn't mean that anything outside the sizes is less than. You just have to draw a line somewhere and every company has the right to draw it where they like. Coffee mugs, mattresses, and scissors all come in a relatively finite number of sizes, for example. It's your job to find someone who has the size you want, not their job to go above and beyond for you in particular.

They just don't fit the sample size. It's insane to ask a designer to sketch something and pay to produce it for one person, who is not going to pay for it, when it can't even be re-worn by a runway model at a show for fashion editors and buyers. If buyers like something, designers modify it as needed and put it into production. Then size 0-12 women can go ahead and buy it. But no one is getting freebies. Skinny actresses are getting loans, unless they really love the dress and jewelry and pay to keep it. Which almost never happens.
Like who the fuck do these people think they are? They are not entitled to anything. And they are inside the industry, so they should know exactly how the loaning system works. If designers start doing expensive, labor-intensive work for free they will end up going out of business.

Ughh oh my god. Its your JOB to look good as well as sound good. I miss the way music used to be so much. I started exercising as a young teen because I wanted arms like P!nk (when she was fit, before she blew up). She used to be a good role model. I can sing better than most on the radio. Our band almost took off but we couldn't do any shows bc of my c section and now foot surgery. Not local shits either, we got offers for big festivals and even shows in other countries. I promise if we make it I'll hold myself to the standards celebrities used to have. I'm also pretty strict on "Band Image" lmaoo. Nobody in the band can look pudgy, and I've given one of them hell for trying to date a lady with a BMI of like 27. My hubby wrote all our music so if they don't like it they can gtfo. Also, the local music scene here is so annoying. They're all obeast neckbeards who guzzle Monster and Fireball Whiskey and sweat on everything. Some of them are jealous of us and try to slander us from time to time. Cuz ya know, typical fats and their great personalities and talent, looks shouldn't matter anyway. xD

Classy designer's sizes have not undergone the same bullshit fat ass kissing sizing insanity ( what used to be a size 12 is now labled an 8) that cheap ass brands have. No way is that cow a 6 or 8...in ANY brand.
[–] bekahbread 0 points 10 points 10 points (+10|-0) ago
Came here to say that. She's not a 6 or 8 in vanity sized either with hips and thighs that large. Completely delusional.
