What they probably said is that she was too big to fit into a size 6-8 and suggested something larger. Then the lard barge got offended, threw a tantrum and warped what they said to shift the blame onto the clothing designers to cover for the fact that she's a cow.

Why would any legitimate designer want their name associated with a tarp they sewed together for a fat? Regardless of the designer's skill, it's impossible to make clothing that makes a fat look acceptable. This would reflect poorly on the designer.

They just keep changing the numbers of the dress sizes.
In 1958, for example, a size 8 corresponded with a bust of 31 inches, a waist of 23.5 inches and a hip girth of 32.5 inches. In ASTM’s 2008 standards, a size 8 had increased by five to six inches in each of those three measurements, becoming the rough equivalent of a size 14 or 16 in 1958.
