learn to code
I fucking hate this meme (in the original form of course). People will type out some fizz-buzz shit in Javascript or Python and think that's all there is to "coding". Programming is a craft, it takes years to master, you have to be mindful of speed and memory, carefully pick your languages (yes, plural), data structures and algorithms. It is absurd to think that someone can just transition from a completely unrelated field to programming like it's changing your clothes.
As if some 46 y/o dude trying to support his family has time to learn javascript
Exactly.
However, I do believe that everyone should know the basics of programming and shell scripting, but only in the same way that everyone should know how to use a screwdriver and be able to do basic maintenance around the house, not that everyone needs to be a mechanic. Most people don't know anything beyond how to press shiny buttons in the GUI and are a completely illiterate slave to the (((software manufacturers))).
Entry level coding jobs in Londonistan pay ridiculously bad.
We're talking 20-25k GBP in a city where you have very similar living expenses.
The only light at the end of the tunnel are higher paid jobs for experienced people but there is stiff competition as well.
They want white men to move to the big cities with jewed up real estate working for hand to mouth wages while being managed by tyrannical man hating feminists and cow towing to (((diverse 3rd world people))) with affirmative action jobs.
It's the ultimate meat grinder.
It's also gas lighting men into dedicating crazy amounts of time to learning to code (2-3 years full time learning while they could have kids) which leaves no room for pursuing women or joining an paramilitary movements.
What is funny is that a lot of the journos getting shitcanned have no real journalism training. You can tell be reading their work. They got degrees in shit more worthless than journalism, and I should know because I have journalism training.
Advice: journalism in the traditional form is a dying medium.
