Yes it can but current type isn't the primary factor when it comes to lethal discharge. It's the amperage that makes the difference. Anywhere from 100mA and up is concidered a lethal discharge.

Electricity is lazy and always takes the path of least resistance to ground. If you are the path of least resistance then you will be struck.
