So what if someone films an undercover and publishes it and blows their cover and ruins their operation? Then are we just to assume there's an obvious reason why the videographer chose the plainclothesman and knew of their official work?

Project Veritas comes out with some really juicy bits, but I'm worried about the precedent this could set. There was a lot of espionage taking place during the Cold War. Is there a distinction to be made here?

Espionage is secret, covert, nonpublic, not presented for legal purposes. The distinction is obvious.
