Here's a simple DIY approach:

But the tone sweep is more standard. Logic will do this. And I'm sure other programs should too. It's actually not that hard.

EDIT: except for finding cool spaces worth making impulses of. That part is hard. lol

Wow! Awesome, so you're essentially just consolidating the reverb tail of a click or snap in any given space. Quite simple. I'm very interested in doing this. I'm your typical "bedroom producer" and have a lower end condenser mic which might not be suitable for the job but I can give it a whirl and see how the results are. Or maybe condenser mics are suitable. I don't know. I'll have to give this more research. Thanks so much for the share!

I didn't even realize in my first comment that I literally could create impulse responses with him clapping in those different spaces. Hmm

YES! That's it. Of course, you'll need a convolver. Usually software, but there are some hardware units out there too.

Here's an old but free convolver for the mac that works surprisingly well. I've been very pleased with its quality. Though I don't know how well it works on Yosemite.

Works in both logic and garageband. Though there are much better commercial convolvers out there.

And Audacity has a GPL'd convolver called GVerb that I haven't tried.
