It's actually a good business move. They made their business successful on a viral ad. They sold for $1b to Unilever. They almost certainly dropped in value and customers since then. So now all they have to do is burn the ship while all the investors walk away with a fortune - or absent of that, a legit bankruptcy claim where taxpayers bail them out.

Not the first company to do such a thing... happens all the time. It's better to burn out, than it is to rust.
