I have to chime in as well. A few years back I bought all the equipment. I was not sure of my decision. After learning how to use a DE safety razor, I realized it was the best purchase I made of the year. And I am cheaper than a Jew.
If you buy a safety razor, watch a few videos on how to shave with it as opposed to shit disposables. The most important thing is not to shove it into your face. Let it lightly glide. Still watch some videos because there are other differences.
E: I know reddit is despised here, but this subreddit is small and devoted to DE safety razors. This is what got me to take the dive. The mod running it years ago was fantastic and extremely helpful: Wicked Edge

Do it, and come back in a month and thank him for making your life a little better.

Good for legs too, by chance?

Eh, I doubt it. It's very easy to cut yourself with safety razors.

I cannot imagine why not. The most critical thing is not to press hard. Or at all. Just let the light weight of the razor do everything.
E: It is so superior in every single way, I cannot stress it enough. Just rinsing under water, all the hairs fall out as opposed to disposables where everything gets stuck in it.
E: Closer shave. Cheaper in the long run. Less chance of razor burn. On and on and on. Humanity was sold a Jew bill of sale with disposables.
Last E, I swear: You will nick yourself. It takes about a month to learn and adjust, at least on the face. Don't know about legs.
