That's what they ALWAYS tell you as they slip the noose around your neck. "We won't tax you! It's only the rich people!". So, you figure, "I'm not rich. Who cares?! Let them do it!" A few years later, they want some more money. So, they start to expand the program. Now, it becomes a tax on all goods, any home, and every day items. Too late now. They got you by the balls and there's not way to go back. Their job is to tax the shit out of you in as many ways as possible for as much as possible. Welcome to slavery. The only solution is to get rid of taxes. There is no such thing as a "good tax". The state always uses it in evil ways.

not only that they built inflation into the fedres/irs scam, so they KNEW the "only-the-rich" tax structure would "trickle down" and affect the common man in short order (decades, if that)

We already pay sales tax of some sort. A national sales tax (if payroll taxes are eliminated) wouldn't be a big deal. If I think I am taxed too much I don't buy a dvd player. But, government must live within it's means for this to work. Without a balanced budget any tax eventually destroys liberty.

So, you're an inventor. You come up with a new DVD player. You raise money and bust your ass to build a company to manufacture and sell these new DVD players. Then, the Government steps in and says "Sorry, there's a 15% tax on buying new DVD players". WTF? What part of the business did the Government contribute to? Where were they during all the hard work to build the company? They show up at the end to fuck the manufacturer and the consumer. It's not fair to entrepreneurs and businesses (or consumers).

Taxes are going to be here wherever they derive from. My point is, a sales tax allows me to decide where and to some degree how much I pay. Payroll tax and they take it from me no matter what I do. No payroll taxes, I have more money to spend. If I choose to spend it. I can guarantee that I'd have a lot less crap if that was where taxes were paid. Also, if that were the only income for government, they'd have a vested interest in a robust economy. If they were forced to live within their means. I prefer a flat tax but that has been stopped repeatedly. I'd also prefer a balanced budget. I believe the latter as necessary for this change to be good for liberty.
