Gawker has been super SJW for a while now, I don't know when they specifically started targeting Reddit.

I didn't read the whole thing, but, what the fuck, this is low even by Gawker standards.
Is it illegal to assist in blackmail? By using your influence to broadcast far and wide the information the blackmailer wants to make public?

I don't know that Gawker broke any laws in that post, but it sure seems like they're treading awfully close to the line.
Gotta say, though -- I occasionally visited a couple of their sites, like Deadspin and Jalopnik. The new low this sets removed at least one viewer permanently.

It's worse than that
So Ryan (the blackmailer) claims that Geithner (the victim) asked him to kill the story in return for bringing a HUD complaint to Obama.
Look at that again. Bringing a HUD complaint to Obama because his brother is an ex Treasury Secretary. Does it really seem likely the brother of every ex Obama admin official can bring their escort's eviction cases to Obama and get him to intervene? The whole thing is bullshit. "Ryan" may as well be a Gawker staffer since they concealed his identity.
Fuck Gawker.
The comments are uniformly hostile too
