Local hardware stores or mcmaster-carr. The types of places with really large inventories/catalogs.
I always find it interesting to see what items I've never seen before that I could use in the future. Same goes for electronics places like digikey but that's a bit more of an esoteric way to go.

www.skymall.com They're definitely one of those sites that has everything you never even knew that you wanted. For example.
It might take a few weeks for your stuff to arrive, but prices are often ridiculously low compared to shopping at home.
