Yes... but if you commit a crime while on drugs, no favors.

Legalize? No. Decriminalize? Hell yes.

Why not Legalize?
[–] SongAboutYourPost 1 point 3 points 4 points (+4|-1) ago
legalize opens a door while decriminalize unlocks it.
hahahaha. I am leaving this comment even though it made sense when I thought it and now... is obviously vague and stupid. I do'nt brain good.

Unless your government removes itself from the convention on narcotics you can't just freely grow it yourself or even set plant limits as the cultivation all depends on your needs, the available space, security, etc. It's impossible for home growers to fully comply so it will be taken over completely by the government who will produce shit quality products with high prices and they'll continue the war against everyone who goes outside of their system just like they do now. Decriminalizing it on the other hand makes it a free for all and allows your nation to still stay part to the convention on narcotics which avoids potential sanctions by claiming ignorance of any black market in your country due to there not being any laws on the books that should create one and that you consider drug use a personal issue that at worst needs to be dealt with medically.

I think this needs to be addressed on a drug by drug basis. I think it is silly that weed and shrooms are illegal. Marijuana is medicinal and no real harm seems to come of the two. However, I don't think things would go over well if there were private companies peddling heroin, or meth. Cigarettes get enough flak for killing their customers, I could not imagine what a cocaine peddler would feel. Those drugs are also really harmful to people, there would be no logic to allow them while banning things like transfats.
Decriminalization has worked for other countries and when implemented, drug usage actually goes down. People are treated as if they are ill when caught instead of being thrown in jail were they can basically network with other criminals.

In the name of FREEDOM... pretty much a no brainer.

I'm pro drug legalization. It's your life. You do what you want with it. That's not to say there shouldn't be disclaimers on them saying that they can mess your day up (like on cigarettes). There should be similar laws for it though, like driving while intoxicated. It's the same thing, just a different substance.

Make all drugs legal but also let anyone carry any weapon they want. If I see SeƱor Bath Salts streaking down Peachtree Avenue and he decides to eat my face I want to know that I can bust out my double action hand canons and educate this synthetic zombie on the virtues of goddamn freedom. You fry you die mothafucka!

I gotta say no to this. A lot of drugs should be legalized or decriminalized, but there are some that are so addictive and horrible that they should remain illegal. UNLESS we the tax payers have zero responsibility for dying crack or meth heads or other hugely addictive and horrible for you and society drugs. It will be hard to draw the line for what is or isn't considered a horrible deadly drug. I am all for letting people do what they want as long as they don't hurt anyone, but being a drain on the public is taking away tax dollars for example welfare or education.

Yes. Prohibition of drugs does nothing to combat addiction it only perpetuates violence and gives all the money to the most vicious criminals out there.

Can't say it any better than this
