I can sympathize with not wanting to see gubmint overstepping. However, this cop was an American citizen. Any random citizen would have done the same thing, if they were armed and able to defend themselves. Otherwise they would have been stabbed to death. Dude had a knife. A deadly weapon. The cop tried to taze him first. If anything, he didn't use force soon enough and might very well get in trouble for that. You don't meet a lethal weapon with a less lethal weapon.
