I live In So Oregon. They reintroduced non native Canadian timber wolves into Idaho amd N.E. Oregon several years ago. The wolves have spread all around the area all the way into Cali. They have had approx 7 confirmed wolf kills of live stock this last year as the wolves move closer and closer to rural communities. They are no longer an endagered species, but they refuse to remove them from the list to allow hunting. This fall a local hunter was being sralked by two wolves when he had to shoot one, as the other ran away. They are not native wolves they are larger and average abt 250 lbs and are devastating deer and elk herds, along with the goat, sheep, and cattle they slaughter. They rarely eat the animals they kill... they just love the slaughter. Also, any reports of sightings and the FS/rangers are likely to say it was a big coyote and they also keep the numbers and pack locations secret. Add to that, the mountain lion over population and many people see loss of family pets, so far no children.
