I've literally never trolled or harassed anyone online, but some how Ellen thinks of me as a troll and her as a victim... Why is it so hard to understand that normal people don't like censorship too?

I will put up with infinite trolling and shitposting if it means the internet stays as open a platform as it can be.

You would really think there would be a point where a person can't fuck up everything they touch and still lauded as a something to aspire towards.

Ellen Pao is fucking poison to anything she is a part of, but somehow people pretend she is a hero. She intentionally hurt the careers of other women at KP. She had a workplace affair. She got poor work performance reviews. When she wasn't promoted she sued and lost because everyone could tell she was a terrible person. She then moves on to Reddit and fucks up everything she touches there too. She did such a poor job that even though she was brought in to be the "fall person" they fired her before she could even finish that.

Why is this woman the standard held up for heroics in Silicon Valley?

Fuck sakes, I have to stop reading the comment section of News sites. Im not sure what was worse though. The victim-mentality-driven cesspool of letters or the "opposing view=Troll" sentiment.

I think what she fails to realize is that people dislike false advertising and being lied to. You can't wave a flag of free speech, only to drop the gate behind them saying, "Now that we have you, you need to play by our rules!"

That's NOT how this works. It's not like they had a set of rules with some innocent website, and "trolls" came in to stomp all over it. They advertised something they apparently had no business advertising. They overstepped what they were capable of delivering.

All that's happening to Reddit right now is people figuring out that the game was rigged, the dice loaded. Either the staff starts working with the community, or they find themselves in the same hole Digg ended up in.

I'm pretty sure people wouldn't have an issue with "Runaway from Reddit Day" if the latter comes true.

Yes...internet trolls are the real problem...says the legal troll. Because as we all know, some mean words on the internet are a more serious problem than a baseless gender discrimination lawsuit following your termination for consistently poor performance.

Considering we are all trolls in their minds, I guess we are winning.

The "trolls" always had the internet. It just seems like Reddit is distressed/surprised that their massive userbase is a massive hoard of "trolls."
