You could say it's a cobweb spider of some sort. I mean, it's from the theridiidae family. I believe what you have there is a juvenile male black widow.

I did some searching and you are absolutely right. A young male black widow. Incredible. I let him crawl around on my hand before releasing him outside. Now I know what they look like.

Oh yeah, the males you don't have to worry about; IIRC it's the females that have the nasty bite, and even then they will have to feel threatened to do anything. The male widows are pretty chilled out.
