I'm using a Huawei mate 10 Pro right now. Tell you exactly why they don't want to sell them here in the US. First thing I did when I turn my phone on? Uninstall Facebook all the Google Suites YouTube. Everything, no carrier bloat and even remove the stock Huawei stuff.

Aw it's cute that you think you've removed all that stuff.

You idiots don't even remember Donny Dipshit caved to Chinese pressure and refused to enforce sanctions against ZTE?

Pffff... meanwhile apple allows its users on the app store to freely install Chinese spyware through “social media” like Wechat. If Americans truly cared, then they’d do like the Indians and tell its people to remove all such software. Wechat = Chinese spyware.
Hence, (((Trump/US Gov))) dont give a damn about your privacy. They only care about the ((($))). Deport Americans and their culture of hustling, prison rape, and trans from Europe.

Practically all apps spy on what you do in the app. By default, iOS doesn't allow apps to do much more than that (as opposed to Android which requires rooting and difficult to install 3rd party extensions to somewhat limit spyware behaviour of apps).
For it to really be spyware and monitor you outside of the app, they'd have to have special permissions granted by Apple.
Are there any indications that Apple grants WeChat special spying privilleges such as they did with the Uber app?
