How is that going to stop illegals from entering our country?

This sounds like a very adventurus goal if you can think how long 500 miles would be for even a simple fence. The engineering challenge seems to exceed the political hurdles.

That's an interesting quote because we have 1,989 miles of border and I've often heard him say in his rallies that, with proper funding, he could have the wall built in 1 year. So I think he's setting an easily obtainable goal here. Under promising and over delivering.

Giving President Trump the money, stop the Ds obstruction at every turn and the wall would be completed i a year.

If he builds a stupid fence and calls it a wall he failed.

Wall (From Wikipedia):

A wall is a structure that defines an area, carries a load, or provides shelter or security. There are many kinds of walls, including:

Defensive walls in fortifications
Walls in buildings that form a fundamental part of the superstructure or separate interior rooms, sometimes for fire safety
Retaining walls, which hold back dirt, stone, water, or noise sound
Walls that protect from oceans (seawalls) or rivers (levees)

Permanent, solid fences Border barriers between countries Brick wall Precast wall Stone wall Glass wall (only when most of the wall, in smaller amounts it is called a window) Doors are mobile walls on hinges which open to form a gateway

I was curious about how long the border was: https://www.nationalgeographic.org/media/tijuana-border-fence/

Almost 2,000 miles. So, 500 would only be 1/4 of the wall needed. Hopefully, we can at least double that goal.

He says that 500-550 is complete since the rest is impassible terrain. No need to say you're going to build on 1500 miles if the 1500 doesn't need a wall.

500 miles is a lot of wall...particularly in the right places. Around 95% of crossings happen in that 500 miles and it's not like they can just go to another location. Some real remote difficult terrain along that boarder...no roads...cactus and rattlesnakes and gila monsters and buzzards. Remote areas are easy to monitor by air/ other.

Oh, good. Didn't think of that.

Thank you for that. I was wondering, too. 2000 miles is very long... Wouldnt it be better and easier to just take out the CIA and international bankers?
