No matter how good they talk the talk to get elected, they mostly all seem to go to the "Dark Side", once they get settled in.

Many congressmen started off as lawyers and just kept getting promoted. Just imagine if you took a pool of lawyers and picked out the best liars with the worst ethics to serve in the town hall. Then from there, pick the best liars again. Do that five or six times and you come out with a bunch of congressmen.
