As long as they do it sustainably i dont see the problem

That's the problem... we don't understand many whales full life-cycle. I'm saying this from the point of view where living whales have been found with 1800s era whaling harpoons still embedded in their blubber. Yes, that puts some of them around the 200 year old mark.

People don't understand this. Additionally, there's pretty much nothing from a whale that is so unique that there is an actual need to hunt whales.

There really isn't a way to "do whaling sustainably", at least not until the populations recover. At the rate they're doing so, the Nips should be able to restart sustainable commercial whaling a couple centuries from now.

I guess our pussies are too sore to just nut up and say:
"You know what? Fine. They're our fucking whales. Hands of."
Those big burly Japanese stallions might hurt us if we stood up for anything.

If the Japanese had any mind for how much impact their practices have on the environment.... Fukishima is still leaking btw. Japan, I know you DGAF about outside opinion much, but you gotta play the global optics game a bit better.

Good. Maybe they can torpedo some green peace vessels while they're out fishing.
