Fact is China is an export-dependent economy which is a massive liability as the world shifts from globalism back into economic nationalism. China bought in but their population peaked in 2011 and are now looking at reproduction-catch-ups like those in western nations.
As far as population power goes, India is the new China.
And as far as intellectual capital goes, South Korea, Singapore and Japan each kick their ass, individually. Woe to China that they will all fall on the US side of the equation...whether in a "trade war," "cold war" or a "kinetic" war.
